Description: 

Objective: To increase the resilience of selected rural communities to the impacts of climate change natural hazards.

Aim:

  1. Strengthening of climate change and disaster risk information and communication, and
  2. Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction investment activities.

Objectives:

  1. integrate climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction across recipient sectors
  2. improve climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction information and communication systems
  3. increase the resilience of rural communities to climate change and natural hazards

Components includes

  1. Coordination between Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction Institutions
  2. Information and Communication
  3. Pilot Investments
  4. Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation.

Location: 

  • Nagu, Temotu and Vatukulau, Horabau and Duidui, Guadalcanal however will expand to other provinces

Time Frame: 2014 - 2019
